Fight: Schemes

June 22, 2014

In this sermon, Pastor Scott talks about the schemes and lies that the devil uses in our lives.  His schemes are often subtle, not easily detected.  We need to pull the cover off of these schemes and expose them for the deceptions they are.  When we shine the light and truth of God's word on these lies they quickly fade and wither away.  God always makes his strength available to us to resist the devil's temptation.

Fight: War

June 15, 2014

The Church, at least in America, has seen many lose their fighting spirit. The Church is being silenced, sidetracked and swayed by the forces of darkness. We are not in a physical war, but a spiritual one against those forces. God wants His church to live, work, and pray for his kingdom to come on this earth, His will to be done. Satan and his forces are no match for God, but when the church leans on its own strength it gets bullied and knocked around. In this message, Pastor Scott calls Renaissance to see the reality around us and to fight.

Holy Spirit Power: Be Filled

May 25, 2014

God's desire is for us to be filled with the Holy Spirit.  This is not a one time filling but a life of being continuously filled.  When we try to live on our own power we end up frustrated, discouraged and cynical.  God wants us to know him, know he is near, to be filled with his love and power, to experience His presence.  This isn't a religious exercise but an ongoing life-changing experience.

Holy Spirit Power: Walking in the Spirit

May 18, 2014

Too often Christians try to live their lives on their own power.  They focus not on inward transformation but appearing outwardly good.  In this message Pastor Scott preaches about walking in the Spirit and the work that the Spirit does inside of believers.  He helps us to overcome what Galatians calls the "works of the flesh" so  that we can become more like Christ.  There are things we can do each day to cultivate a relationship with the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit does not just cheer us on but gives us the strength we need.

Holy Spirit Power: Hearing His Voice

May 11, 2014

Can we really hear the voice of God?  In this sermon Pastor Scott looks at how the Holy Spirit speaks to us and guides us.  It is not a booming voice, but it is a still, small voice that leads us and guides us.  There are practices we can do in our lives to pave the way to hear the voice of God.

Holy Spirit Power: Who is He?

May 4, 2014

In this message Pastor Nate begins the series on the Holy Spirit by exploring who the Bible says he is.  The Holy Spirit is not a thing, but a person.  He is not an angel, but he is God.  It is the Holy Spirit that comes inside of us and makes us Christians and gives us the power needed to live our lives for God.  Special encouragement by Pastor Scott included at the end.

Easter 2014

April 20, 2014

There is no one like Jesus.  In this Easter message Pastor Scott tells the story of Jesus.  His life was unique and his death & resurrection are unmatched.  History has given us many great figures but no one is on the same level as Jesus, he sits on his own level.  Fully human and fully God.  In light of who Jesus is and what he has done, asking what is the minimum we need to do to get to Heaven is the wrong question.  The right question is what does God deserve from us?

Malachi: The Day of the Lord

March 30, 2014

Every human being that is on this planet is on a path that will lead them before the judgment of Jesus. Scripture talks about this great day of the Lord, a day of judgment where we will all stand before Jesus and give an account for our lives. In this sermon from Malachi 4:1-6, Pastor Nate points out the necessity of standing in Christ on that day. No human being besides Jesus can stand before the judgment of God on their own. As Christians this compels us to pray and share the good news of Jesus with those around us, in hope that their eyes would be open to the fact that they are going to stand before Jesus in their own power on the day of the Lord otherwise.
