Hebrews 10:1-18
We explore the passage in Hebrews 10:1-18 in preparation for Communion Sunday. The message considers three aspects of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ: the singularity; the sovereignty; and the sufficiency of his sacrifice. As we posture ourselves to receive God's word, our hearts and minds are ready to fully respond to the invitation to come to the table of the Lord's Supper.
In this sermon we look at how the Lord's Supper reminds us of Christ's cleansing by His precious blood, and how he as purchased us as His own people commissioned to serve Him as we look forward to His Coming victorious and eternal Kingdom.
This was the first message of 2020 and also a Communion Sunday. Psalm 32 was expounded on as a way of helping to reset hearts for the new year. The essential message was that God is merciful and yet we are responsible to deal honestly with our sins.
