Christians have this unique role to inspire, to move people to pursue Jesus. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are Jesus' ambassadors here in the world. Pastor Scott reminds us to walk in wisdom as we communicate the gospel to those around us, to be gracious, to be respectful, to be reconcilers. We should not be overbearing or condemning but filled with joy, allowing the beauty of what Christ has done in us to shine through.
Go: The Power of Community
This message comes out of Acts chapter 2 showing us the portrait of Christian community of the early church. From them we see the importance of the church in being an example, a witness to the power and grace of Jesus. The reality is that in our present time there are obstacles to the church being a witness. Pastor Scott examines these things and portrays for us the vision and hope of what community would be like at Renaissance Church.
Go: In His Footsteps
One of the Ren Elders, Easton Dickson, reminds us that when we go to spread the message of Jesus, we go in his footsteps, we go in the way of Jesus. It is not optional for us, we need to follow Jesus' example. Through the story of Jesus with the Samaritan woman, we are reminded that Jesus viewed people as people, having worth in the sight of God and everyone in need of hearing the good news of Jesus.
Go: What Matters Most
Friend of Ren and founder of Run For Freedom, Pat Manzo, preaches about knowing what matters most in our lives. Sharing stories and reports from his ministry, he reminds us of the importance of loving people and bringing the good news of Jesus through words and tangible actions.
Go: The Message
God spreads his message through His Church. The Church is here on this earth for a purpose, for a reason. God invites us to be his ambassadors, his instruments in spreading the gospel of Jesus. God uses our lives, our words, our actions to spread the good news, we are here on this earth to make his goodness, his love, and his salvation known to those around us.
Fight: Legacy
Where do we get our fight from? Who is our role model? In this sermon, Pastor Nate reminds us about the life of Jesus, and his character of being a fighter. Jesus came down to earth and lived a perfect, sinless, indestructible life, nothing could sidetrack, sway or silence Jesus from his mission and purpose. No matter what we've done in our lives, when we are brought into the family of God we come into his legacy of courage, tenacity and fight. We get our fight from Jesus.
Fight: Stories
Sam, Michelle, and Ryan share their stories of how they have fought and overcome by the grace of God.
Fight: Wounded
What do we do when we find ourselves bruised and beaten by life's circumstances or by our sins? How do we get back up to fight again? In this sermon, one of the Ren elders, John Michaelson, speaks about how God lifts us up and gets us back into the fight. The same power of God that enables us to fight restores us and brings us mercy and grace. The power of God will restore us so we can continue to fight for his kingdom.
Fight: Fuel
One of the greatest problems in the Christian church is apathy, numbness. Even our very loved ones are being robbed and blinded spiritually and we barely shed a tear. In this message, Pastor Scott shares that in order to be a good fighters we must be angry. We must be bothered about things. We must be baptized in compassion and tears. This holy grief comes from the Lord and is the underlying fuel.
Fight: Weapon
The Word of God, the Bible, is the greatest weapon we have against the lies and temptations of the forces of darkness. In this message, Pastor Scott talks about how the Word of God repels the attacks of the enemy, and how to get the Word of God inside of us so we are able to use it. God's Word is not supposed to be known only, but it is supposed to live inside of us and change us and give us strength.
